Mountain bikers

From horse power to pedal power, head for the unspoilt landscape of the Snowdonia Mountains. With a range of challenging mountain tracks or family friendly routes located throughout the area, there is something for every cycling enthusiast. For unforgettable scenery try cycling the Lon Dysynni route which runs from Tywyn to Abergynolwyn. Or for exhilarating and challenging mountain bike trails, visit Coed-Y-Brenin near Dolgellau which boasts the best purpose-built, all-weather tracks in the UK.

Want to stay on your own two feet? Then take advantage of the varied paths and trails that can be found, from scenic coastal paths to the National Park trails – the region truly is a walker's paradise!

Try walking parts of the long distance Offa's Dyke Path, which runs from Chepstow to Prestatyn covering a total of 176 miles along the Welsh border. During the walk, take time out to explore the town of Hay-on-Wye, famous for its literature festival and many second-hand book shops, or discover the bustling market town of Welshpool.

Dolphins

Head to the Ceredigion coast for some adventurous water-based activities. Try your hand at sailing, kayaking or powerboating at Cardigan Bay Watersports Centre based in New Quay. The centre offers a range of short sessions and courses to suit all levels and abilities. As well as experiencing fantastic views of Cardigan Bay coastline, visitors are sometimes lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one of Cardigan bays' resident Bottlenose Dolphins.
