Welcome to the Group Travel section of Go Mid Wales! Here we'll be highlighting the best the region has to offer groups, be they large or small.
We've noticed that not only are more and more visitors coming to Mid Wales, they're coming at all times of the year. Nevertheless, whenever you visit, one thing is always guaranteed - the stunning scenery!
From the protected landscapes of the Snowdonia and Brecon Beacons National Park to the beautiful coastline of Cardigan Bay and the sweeping reservoirs of the Elan Valley, there's something for everyone, regardless of age or taste.
Mid Wales even has a number of more gentle walks including the Hafod Estate, one of the most famous landscapes in Wales. Set in the Ystwyth Valley high above Aberystwyth, it is a testimony to the artistic ambition of one man - Thomas Johnes - who built the estate in the 18th century.
Another option is the popular ‘Soup and Stroll’, where you can enjoy a trip on the scenic Heart of Wales line, travelling from the English Tudor town of Shrewsbury right through Mid Wales and on to Swansea. Hop off at Britain's smallest town, Llanwrtyd Wells, present your ticket, and you'll receive a bowl of homemade soup and a roll - always guaranteed to put a spring in your step!
Mid Wales is constantly changing to meet the needs of today's group visitors. There are now new and improved town hotels, stunning country house hotels and 5 star bunkhouses as well as more homely B&Bs.
Over the last few years Mid Wales has also established a reputation for the quality and variety of its events - from food fairs and walking festivals to the sounds of Brecon Jazz and a step back in time at the Victorian Festival in Llandrindod Wells. We have a wide range of events throughout the year giving your group the ideal opportunity to awaken their senses in Mid Wales.
Even the British weather is not a problem as there are a wide range of attractions in the region. You can enjoy a steam train ride on one of the ‘Great Little Trains of Wales’; explore the splendour of Powis Castle near Welshpool; discover a more environmentally-friendly way of life at one of Europe's leading eco destinations - The Centre for Alternative Technology near Machynlleth - or discover your roots at the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth.
Whatever the reason for visiting, be it a day trip, short break or longer stay, take another look at Mid Wales!
